Happy Sunday! Sorry for being away for a little while. Between being sick and moving to a new office, I’ve been busy, disoriented, and scattered about. But hopefully, I can get back into a good rhythm again. I hope you have a wonderful Sunday, and that God will keep you close to himself throughout this week.

Confession

Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, the offspring of David, as preached in my gospel, 9 for which I am suffering, bound with chains as a criminal. But the word of God is not bound! 10 Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. 11 The saying is trustworthy, for: If we have died with him, we will also live with him; 12 if we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us; 13 if we are faithless, he remains faithful—for he cannot deny himself. Have mercy upon us, O God, according to your lovingkindness. According to the multitude of your tender mercies, blot our transgressions. As David did in Psalm 139, ask the Lord to search you and know you through and through. Confess the sins God brings to mind, knowing you are forgiven and that He will cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
 
Thanksgiving

Mighty God of mercy, we thank you for the resurrection dawn bringing the glory of our risen Lord who makes every day new. Especially we thank you for the beauty of your creation, the new creation in Christ and all gifts of healing and forgiveness, the sustaining love of family and friends, and the fellowship of faith in your church. In Christ we pray, Amen. (from Daily Prayer)

Spend some time reflecting on the prayer of thanksgiving above and then thank God for who he is and the many ways he has poured out his goodness and grace in your life.

9. Question: What is the Son’s role in creation?

Answer: Through Him all things were made. (John 1:3; 1 Cor. 8:6; Col. 1:16-17; Heb. 1:2.) For us and for our salvation He came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became truly human.
